my dearest daddy and mummy are home from tibet! yay.. no more maggie mee and takeaway food.. LOL..
we sisters had done well on last sat in the preparation for the prayers to ah ma without mummy around..
we woke up ard 5.30am and started cooking.. er gu came by at 9 with some dishes while da gu and si gu came ard 10 plus with the roast chicken and duck.. and we had fun with throwing the 2 coins (as indiators if ah ma has arrived for the feast).. everyone made their offerings and after some 15 min then i realise that we didn't ask ah ma if she has reached our place for the feast.. lol! bro got it at the first attempt. It must be because ah ma felt happy that bro was at home to invite her for the feast. i prepared bobo chacha too.. but it was not very pretty.. taste alright.. but need to improve more.
Here's a pic of our proudest dish - cabbage wrap minced meat:
My aunts kept asking me about the dishes.. Haha.. i must say, the presentation was done by me, but ultimately the taste (very much dependent on the fillings) was determined by my da jie.. She was the one to put all the seasonings.
After a morning of cooking and attending to our relatives, us, the four siblings fell asleep together in the living room until er gu came by again in the evening to help us reheat the dishes. Luckily er gu and her whole family had dinner with us, if not, the amount of food that we have left from lunch would feed us for another few weeks!
I left after dinner with WZNN to fetch his grandparents to the temple, returning home near midnight. WZNN watched tv through the night while i (again) feel asleep on the sofa. (Mocha really don't work for me! I won't be kept awake by it..) At 4 am, bro came home from a night out with his friends and woke all of us up. By 4.15am we were all ready to set off to the airport. I took WZNN's car while my bro drove my sisters. My silly bro, didn't keep close to us and didn't know which terminal to go. He ended up in T2 while we were suppose to go T1. Luckily, i called my sis before they alight. Anyway, we had to wait for at least another half hour before seeing daddy and mummy. The airport was cold and my little sis kept herself warm by eating sweets and imagining herself in the desert.. Ha! Funny girl.. acting abnormally since entering JC.
Daddy bought 2 bottles of Vodka absolute for WZNN and a Chivas regant for bro. They came back with 4 bags more than when they flew off. We head straight to Geylang for tau hue and pork-floss pies before going home. Hahaha.. this is the reason that all of us woke up at 4 am.
Once hitting home, my little sis and bro drift into dreamland immediately. WZNN helped daddy to set-up the camera and display all the pictures in the com while me and da jie helped to unpack. My parents bought back whole box of books about tibet and chinese-tibet medication. Of course there are food and lots of "tian -zhu". Mummy gave each of us (the girls) a 999 silver bangle while bro and WZNN got a beaded braclet with a "tian zhu" for good health
See my parents' blog for pictures they took while in China... =
